Introduction

The short link service converts long URLs into short, memorable links that are perfect for social media sharing, marketing campaigns, and brand promotion. LikeDo's short link feature not only provides basic URL shortening but also integrates advanced features like AI auto-completion, analytics, password protection, and more.

Quick Start

Create Your First Short Link

1. Log in to your LikeDo account
2. Navigate to Dashboard > Short Links
3. Click the Create Short Link button in the top right corner
4. Fill in the required information:
   • Target URL: The long URL you want to shorten (e.g., https://example.com/very-long-url)
   • Slug: Custom short link suffix (e.g., my-link)
   • Domain: Select the domain to use (e.g., ig.do)
5. Click Create to finish

Once created, your short link will be: https://ig.do/my-link

AI Smart Auto-Complete

AI auto-complete is a signature feature of LikeDo that automatically generates optimal slugs, descriptions, and tags for your links.

How to Use AI Auto-Complete

1. In the create short link dialog, first fill in the Target URL
2. Click the ✨ Sparkles icon on the right side of the slug input field
3. AI will automatically analyze the target webpage content and generate:
   • Smart Slug: A short, relevant identifier based on the webpage content
   • Description: A brief explanation of the webpage
   • Tag: Tags for easier categorization and management

• Save Time: No need to manually think about naming
• SEO Friendly: Generated slugs are more semantic
• Auto Categorization: Intelligently generated tags help you organize links better
• Multi-language Support: Supports both Chinese and English content analysis

Short Link Configuration Options

Basic Settings

Slug

The slug is the core part of a short link, located after the domain name.

• Length Requirements: 3-100 characters
• Allowed Characters: Letters, numbers, hyphens (-), underscores (_)
• Uniqueness: Each slug must be globally unique
• Reserved Words: Certain keywords (like api, admin, dashboard) cannot be used

Target URL

• Must be a valid complete URL
• Supports HTTP and HTTPS protocols
• HTTPS is recommended for security

Domain Selection

LikeDo provides multiple domains for you to choose from:

Free Domain (available to all users):

• ig.do - Free domain, suitable for personal use

Premium Domains (requires Pro or Lifetime plan):

• kfc.sh - Short and powerful premium domain
• uv.do - Professional brand domain

Custom Domains:

• You can add your own domain to create a unique brand image
• Go to Dashboard > Domain Management to add custom domains

Advanced Settings

Description

Add a description to your short link for you and your team to understand its purpose.

• Maximum Length: 500 characters
• Usage: Internal notes, SEO optimization
• Visibility: Only visible in the admin interface

Tag

Use tags to categorize and manage links.

• Maximum Length: 50 characters
• Usage: Filtering, grouping, data analysis
• Examples: marketing, social-media, promotion

Expiration Time

Set automatic expiration time for temporary links.

Options:

• Never Expire (default)
• After 1 day
• After 7 days
• After 30 days
• After 90 days

Expired links will become inaccessible, and visitors will see an expiration notice.

Password Protection

Add password protection for sensitive links.

• Password Length: Must be exactly 6 characters
• Use Cases: Internal documents, private sharing, member content
• Access Method: Users must enter the password on first visit

Active Status

Control whether the link can be accessed.

• Active: Link works normally
• Inactive: Visitors cannot access, but link data is retained

Use cases:

• Temporarily disable a link
• Testing before official release
• Emergency pause

Visibility

Control whether the link appears in public lists.

• Visible: Link appears in public link lists
• Hidden: Link can only be accessed via direct URL

Link Management

View Link List

On the Dashboard > Short Links page, you can:

• Search: Quickly find links by keywords
• Filter: Filter by active status, visibility, channel, etc.
• Sort: Sort by creation time, update time, domain, etc.
• Bulk Operations: Select multiple links for batch management

View Link Details

Click on any link to view detailed information:

• Basic Info: Slug, target URL, domain, creation time, etc.
• Access Statistics: Click count, visit trends
• Configuration: Expiration time, password protection, tags, etc.

Edit Links

You can edit the following properties of a link at any time:

• Target URL
• Description
• Tag
• Expiration time
• Password
• Active status
• Visibility

Delete Links

Deleting a link is permanent. Deleted links:

• Cannot Be Recovered: Data is permanently cleared after deletion
• Slug Released: The slug can be reused
• Statistics Lost: All access statistics data will be cleared

Analytics

LikeDo provides detailed access statistics for each short link.

Available Metrics

• Total Clicks: Total number of times the link was accessed
• Visit Trends: View visit volume changes over time
• Source Analysis: Understand traffic sources
• Device Type: PC, mobile, tablet, etc.
• Geographic Location: Geographic distribution of visitors

1. Go to the short link list
2. Click on the link you want to view
3. View statistics charts and data on the detail page

A: No. Once a slug is created, it cannot be modified. If you need to change it, create a new short link and delete the old one.

A: Yes. After deleting a link, the slug is released and can be reused by any user.

Q: How many credits does AI auto-complete consume?

A: Each AI auto-complete do not consume credits. If it fails, it automatically falls back to random generation at no extra charge.

Q: How do I get access to premium domains?

A: Upgrade to Pro Monthly ($19.90/month), Pro Yearly ($199/year), or Lifetime ($299 one-time) plan to use all premium domains.

Q: Is there a limit on link visits?

A: No. Created short links can be accessed unlimited times, regardless of subscription plan.
